Project supported under call for projects #1 (2024)
" Empowering Small Organizations to Fight Against the Exponential Growth of Cyberecrime "

Phishing is a growing societal threat and requires urgent, effective solutions. Through a collaborative process involving field feedback, ideation workshops, and state-of-the-art analysis, this open innovation project will explore technical, organizational, and legal solutions. The results will be prototypes, practical guidelines, and recommendations to strengthen digital security against phishing.

Description

An open innovation approach to study the problem of phishing and to enrich the design of technical, organizational and legal measures that can respond to it:

  • Analysis and establishment of the state-of-the-art of existing measures and identify vulnerabilities based on real feedback from the field
  • Identification and development of innovative solutions to reduce the impact of phishing
  • Development and testing of one or more Proof-of-Concepts (e.g. tools to test messenger configuration or help identify dangerous links)
  • Drawing up of best-practice guides for a diversity of audiences
  • Information and public dissemination of results

Problem

There's no denying that phishing is wreaking enormous havoc. It's a societal problem that affects everyone, in both their private and professional lives.

The exploitation of phishing attacks or forged emails is a major danger for businesses (including the vector of ransomware). Even when most of them are deployed, protection measures are still not sufficient.

Objective

Address the issue of phishing, which is a major concern for society, with a complementary approach to reduce the impact of this scourge
